What's a Doula?
This is one of those things that can be searched online and it will tell you the technical definition and it will go into stats and lots of facts about quicker labours, lower chances of c-section and a more enjoyable experience.
So in my own words… a doula is a birth coach, it’s someone (usually a woman) who is there with you from advancing labour, to birth and beyond. Having a doula present in NO way takes away from your partners role. My job as your doula is to help your partner to support the you. I also can step in and support you while your partner rests or gets food. In order for your labour to be a great experience it’s important that you surrounds yourself with great support.
In TV land we see the dramatic water break, the rush to the hospital, the screaming and here’s baby. If you’ve never had a child this may be your only image of birth. Truth is some people may have this birth but most first time moms labour can last DAY’s, from those first pre labour pains to the moment of holding baby. A doula is a guide on the journey. I help mom and support mom's partner. I am a resource at all hours and provide information when needed.
What do I offer?
As a Doula I have an amazing network to ensure that no matter what, you have the support you need.
I offer three packages for doula services.
Doula: $1150
Services included:
Consultation
2 Pre labour in home visits
Guidance with a birth plan
15 hours of Labour support
Breastfeeding support at place of birth for the first hour after delivery.
1 Post birth home visit
Add On:
Additional Breastfeeding support for $450
Includes an extra pre-birth visit that covers breastfeeding, additional time after babies born for support as well as a within 24 hours in person follow up to help with establishing a good latch. Additionally, on call for support for one more week regarding lactation concerns and latching.
Doula with a hint of Professional Photographer: $1600
Services included:
Consultation
2 Pre labour in home visits
Guidance with a birth plan
15 hours of Labour support
Breastfeeding support
1 Post birth home visit
Professional Photos taken (WHEN possible) focus during labour is supporting mom and birth partner.
20 Digital files professionally edited in color and black & white
A 6x6 Album of your 20 images
Optional online blog with a slideshow keepsake of your 20 images sharing your birth story for $250
Professional Photographer with a hint of doula: Starts at $2000
Services included:
Consultation

Photographer from 5-7 cm dilated to 1-2h after birth
Breastfeeding support in hospital
40 images professionally edited in color and black and white.
8x8 or 8.5x11" Album of 40 images
Lactation Counselor Support.
Breastfeeding Preparation
Private Class $250 (Couple)
Classes are offered as either one 4-hour class on a weekend or two 2-hour classes on weeknights.

Breastfeeding Support $550
Support Package: 2-hour meeting to cover some of the basics of breastfeeding and what to expect.
In hospital or home support to help get breastfeeding off to a great start.
On Call support via text/email and phone for the first two weeks of baby’s life.
Breastfeeding Consultation and Help $450
Support Package: 2 visits in the first 10 days of life to help get breastfeeding off to a great start. Follow up support for the first two weeks via text and email.
